Our Mission

New Hope Academy’s mission is to grow students in their knowledge of Jesus, strengthen their faith, and develop skills for students to become a greater presence for Jesus. NHA is comprised of a series of courses that are organized in six-week sessions. Students can select individual courses of interest or join us for the entire year. All courses are available to anyone who desires to grow and are taught on Tuesday nights from 6:00 – 7:30 at 89 Court Street. Look through the course descriptions and schedule to determine your next step in spiritual development!

Courses

During this course you will discover what the Bible has to say about gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Our desire is that you will discover your spiritual gifts and begin using them to serve others for the glory of God.
“Follow the way of love and eagerly desire the gifts of the spirit.” (1 Corinthians 14:1)

During this course you will examine the life of Christ to discover the vast wealth of His grace toward us and learn essential lessons so that you can emulate His behavior and follow Him more closely.
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 3:18)

During this course you will learn strategies for answering challenging questions that Christians face. Using the book “Tactics”, by Gregory Koukl, you will discuss a variety of strategies and use role plays to develop skills to respond to difficult questions. In addition, you will learn and practice ways to recognize opportunities to proactively share your faith and be a presence for Jesus. “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” (1 Peter 3:15)

During this course you will learn the end-of-days timeline. You will understand the purpose of prophesy, where we are now (the signs of the times), the rapture of the church, the second coming of Christ, the millennial reign, the last battle, and the final judgment. “At that time, they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” (Luke 21:28)

During this course you will develop practical tools to get the most out of your Bible study, including understanding context, interpretation, and application. “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)
